Anonymous asked: have you ever seen/run "death not an impact/not real" as a take out to all their offense? could someone still run a K and this death not real arg?

There’s the Thanatophobia (Fear of Death) Kritik.  I’ve seen some Baudrillard cards about how death just a simple rearrangement of molecules.

  2. halibaster asked: What types of debate are in college? Are any of the events similar to high school debate events? I want to know when I start my first college season in the fall.

The two big formats (at least in the Northeast) are Policy and Parli though I can’t for sure say that the college and HS parli are the same since I wouldn’t touch that format with a ten foot pole.

  3. clubbackpack asked: Did you have to swith partners? What did you do to help with the transition?

Yes, my partner graduated before my senior year.  I mean it’s not a big deal to transition other than I went from being a straight up double two to being just a 2N.  Be sure to do some practice rounds together and make sure that you’re both on the same page philosophically.

little known freud fact: sigmund is actually german for “cocaine filled” and freud is german for “pile of shit”

Strange enough when you translate Slavoj Zizek from Slovenian to English the same thing happens

quit sending me your personal opinions about laptops I really don’t care and won’t publish them.  this conversation is over as far as I’m concerned

  9. ohtheseweatherveins asked: Also for that anon, if they have the money, the new Ultrabooks with Windows 8 and a touchscreen make putting together speeches, editing, and scrolling for speed reading super duper easy. Also the touchscreen is perf for scrolling through a dashboard haha but it's super great! They're about $700 though

    STILL CHEAPER THAN A MAC

weeooodoctorwho asked: To the anon regarding debate laptops: I tend to find Macs really difficult for debate because it doesn't have a good, easy way to find cards.

I don’t know much about this because I know enough about computers to never waste a bunch of money on a Mac.  My $400 Acer laptop would cost over $1,000 if it were a Mac with comparable specs
